Employment History

-Archaeology Data Service, Role: Digital Archives Assistant
March 2021 - May 2023 (2 Years 3 months)

The main aspects of my work involves the gathering and ingest of archaeological data, creation of archives and dissemination of digital archives. I have had access to understanding how archival systems work and usage of Cold Fusion within web templates to create archives and special collections.

I have also used Python by individually developing a file renaming Python application that has allowed for quicker ingest and accessions within archives, this has been particularly evident within HS2 archives.

-Univeristy of York, Role VLE Support Officer
May 2023 - 31st March 2024

I mainly provide 'at desk' support to staff and enable departments to make a smooth transition to the new blackboard Ultra platform. I liaison between academic departments and the wider VLE Transformation Project team, as well as other central professional services.
Some other aspects of the job include:

  • Become an expert in the Blackboard Learn Ultra platform
  • I provide both large scale and small individual training and workshops
  • Video guides creation and video editing through Camtasia
  • Progress tracking through google sheets primarily and discussion analytics
  • Become an expert in the Blackboard Learn Ultra platform
  • Responsibility for the updating of vle-support ultra MKdoc websites, using Git and GitHub to maintain the site
I and the team recently won an award under the Student and Academic Services Making the Difference Scheme within the university.
